Friends of the Earth
Friends of Earth provide resources for Primary and Secondary School learning based on Environmental Issues, Citizenship and Sustainable Development.
Learning and Teaching Resources
Friends of the Earth provide resource packs for teachers who are exploring environmental issues with children as part of the Key Stage 1 Citizenship programme of study.
Colorful posters can be downloaded in PDF format for use in lessons as paper-based resources of displayed on interactive whiteboards. These contain useful information about topics, including areas like air pollution, food and farming, waste and recycling and habitats to name a few. They are also useful resources for creating eye-catching classroom displays.
Each poster is accompanied by a lesson plan, which highlights cross-curricular links and reference to QCA units the resources are relevant to. This means they can fit easily into current schemes of work. For teachers working with a creative curriculum, the learning objectives incorporate those from the major subjects covered by the activities. The lesson plans incorporate fieldwork to give children hands-on experience and take learning outside of the classroom.
