Through this website, KS2 teachers can access lesson ideas on living things and planet Earth. There are six suggested lessons and primary teachers can use introductions to the sessions provided by Sir David Attenborough that can be accessed as online videos for use in the classroom. This site is perfect for any KS2 Science or Geography lesson as it is very informative and fun.

Six Lesson Plans, Ideas and Resources for Teaching About The Natural World

In Lesson 1 the lives of fish are the focus. The video introduction by Sir Attenborough is supported by lesson planning that can be downloaded in PDF. This KS2 planning resource for primary teachers identifies cross-curricular links, learning objectives and provides a useful lesson outline. Suggestions for differentiation are made as well as key lesson resources listed as a helpful checklist when preparing the session. Downloadable worksheets and activities for use in the KS2 classroom are also available. A PowerPoint resource can be downloaded for free and supports suggested teaching and learning activities available on the website.

Lesson 2 focuses on the life of birds with a lesson plan to download as well as a PowerPoint resource to support this session. Lesson 3 involves pupils learning all about creatures and their survival in the undergrowth. This teaching idea is support by planning, a PowerPoint for teachers as well as an activity sheet to support pupils learning about this aspect of Science and Geography. Through Lesson 4, KS2 children develop their knowledge and understanding of plants.

Lesson 5 and Lesson 6 take a broader focus on planet Earth and things that have been discovered about the world we live in aspects that still need to be explored.
