A Very Realistic Painting Application
Artrage is a stunning paint application which simulates the qualities of real paints, paper and techniques. The software is not only appropriate for KS3 and KS4 Art, but also as illustration software in Design and Technology, and Design elements of the ICT curriculum. The software works particularly well with graphics tablets. The intuitive interface is ideal for creating a natural looking artwork which prints out well using a colour laser printer or high quality inkjet. Any size of image can be created, from ACEO sized card art to A2 posters. The painting and drawing tools include realistic oil paints, pencils, pastels and water colours. There is also a facility to trace existing images or photographs. The software is popular for teaching art and is used by professional artists – particularly those working with ACEO and card art. There is an extensive forum offering tips, advice and appraisal on images.
