Three New Free Teaching Resources Announced

Wednesday 24th November 2010

New resources from the Museum of London are now available for students to download from their website completely for free. Supported by the Citi Foundation, the three resources are for the Key Stage 4 Citizenship and PSHE areas and are superbly created for use online and off. The presentation and quiz have been created in Smart notebook software for use on interactive whiteboards, and the money management game “Starting Out”, can be played as a standalone resource.

Helping students learn how to manage their own money once they’ve left school and headed to college or work is an essential part of life. The game “Starting Out”, offers a list of choices for players to select, in order to learn the best way to manage their money, on a monthly basis. It offers helpful hints, and adds unexpected surprise expenses to deal with too. As well as advice on how much a certain type of entertainment or shopping method will cost you, and a cheaper alternative to prevent debt.

The “Money Makes the World Go Around” presentation and quiz are additional resources intended to be used in conjunction with visits to the Museum of London. The presentation is intended to be used either as a standalone resource or as pre-visit preparation for schools who have booked the Museum-led session and the quiz can be used as a post visit activity to consolidate what students may have learned during their trip.

Check out some fantastic resources from the Museum of London available via the Free Teaching Resources Citizenship KS4 or PSHE KS4 section online.
