The PSHE Annual National Conference June 23rd

The PSHE Association is bringing you the latest on the future of PSHE education at the PSHE Association annual national conference. This is in light of the national curriculum review and the internal Government review of PSHE education as well as the inclusion of PSHE education in recent Government white papers.

There will also be a chance to explore the impact of effective PSHE education on young people’s achievement and wellbeing, with:

• The latest evidence for what works, supported by:
• Practical content on how to make a real difference to the learning and lives of children and young people.
• Enhance teaching through a choice of workshops. Themes include alcohol education, financial capability, safety and risk education and body image.
• Explore implications for schools and practice through table discussion.
• Hear what works from a leadership perspective.
• Share practice through networking.

The conference takes place in Glaziers Hall, London Bridge, London.

There is also the ’Assessing Learning and Progression in PSHE Education’ CPD day on May 25th in London. This one-day CPD certified course will provide participants with a better understanding of the benefits of effective assessment in PSHE education and how to incorporate self-, peer- and teacher-assessment into teaching and learning in PSHE education. The day will include:
• What is meant by assessment in the context of PSHE education.
• The opportunity for one-to-one advice on your own scheme of work.
• Appropriate forms of assessment.
• How to carry out assessment effectively.

The PSHE Association is also now offering participants the chance to be involved in a exciting new online learning platform linked to topics covered on the day. This way the learning and knowledge sharing continues long after the day itself.
