Teach Pupils About Great British Food

Sunday 17th October 2010 is a website dedicated to the diverse and delicious food that Britain produces. The website is full of great teaching resources and has activities dedicated to British Food Fortnight. British Food Fortnight 2011 runs from the 17th September to the 2nd October 2011. Hundreds of schools use British Food Fortnight as an opportunity to teach young people about food and how to cook. You can check out the activities from 2010 on the website to get some great ideas; plus there are free to download pdfs, including a resources pack, case studies and a cookery guide.

The teaching resources pack is full of great ideas and activities for all ages that will help you teach your class about the food that Britain produces.  The Case Studies pack looks at how schools have used British Food Fortnight in the past to inspire pupils, whilst the Cookery Guide has examples of how schools have incorporated cookery within their curriculum and has ideas for great cookery lessons.

Although British Food Fortnight 2010 is now over, the website is well worth a visit.
