Get Involved in Global Entrepreneurship Week

Tuesday 9th November 2010

Global Entrepreneurship Week began life as Enterprise Week in the UK back in 2004 and became global in 2008. The week is an opportunity to showcase and celebrate all the amazing work that goes on year-round, demonstrating how entrepreneurship is a force for good. It can lift people out of poverty, enable people to take control of their own lives, or simply turn their passions into profit.

Each year schools are encouraged to use Global Entrepreneurship Week to involve their pupils in the Education Challenge. Education Challenge (formerly Make Your Mark Challenge) gives students an inspirational, exciting and educational way to enable them to build their own business plan during Global Entrepreneurship Week.

This year students are being challenged to create a business that could launch this December on a market stall taking advantage of the most profitable time of the year to work in one of Britain’s local markets and test a product or service. The competition is open to pupils aged between 11 and 19 years old (KS3, KS4, KS5) and teams of 4 or 6 can be registered.

The Global Entrepreneurship Week website has all the details you will need, including curriculum linked Education Challenge teaching resources, lesson plans, teacher notes, certificates, tips and surveys
