Free Road Safety Teaching Resources from THINK!

This week it is Road Safety Week 2011 and THINK, the government’s department for promoting safety on the UK roads, is celebrating by offering free teaching resources for teachers. The THINK! Education Primary and Secondary websites support teachers, parents and pupils. You can find teaching ideas, curriculum links, activities,worksheets and activities on their website all relating to staying safe and promoting traffic awareness in pupils. THINK is working in partnership with the Child Accident Prevention Trust for Child Safety Week which is the annual flagship community education campaign.

THINK! provide road safety information for road users. Their aim is to encourage safer behaviour to reduce the number of people killed and injured on UK roads every year. The THINK website includes detailed information for drives and pedestrians on how to deal with various road use issues such as speed, drink driving, motorcycling, seatbelts, drugs, mobile phones, horses, bicycles, and fatigue and the free teaching resources offered cover all aspects of driving from accidents to preparing for long journeys, road laws and interactive activities.

The Child Accident Prevention Trust also has free downloadable teaching resources including a free interactive ideas booklet, competitions, quizzes and posters for adults and children.
