First Aid and Health & Safety Teaching Resources

Monday 10th May 2010

The St John Ambulance website is full of curriculum-related, inclusive and differentiated first aid and health and safety schools training resources, which can be delivered by teachers or peer educators with some first aid knowledge.

All of the schools teaching resources, lesson plans and activities have been developed by teachers and rigorously tested in the school environment. St John Ambulance believe that what they offer has to be what is needed to meet school objectives; it must be teachable, accessible to all ages, gender, abilities and ethnic groups. It must have value and meet government teaching standards.

The Free Resources available from the website include: a Work Experience Essentials pack for students aged 14 to 18 about to embark on work placements; an Assembly Pack for key stage 2, 3 and 4; and a Football First Aid resource containing worksheets specific to football first aid.

There are also paid for resources, such as the Young First Aider pack, details of which can be found on the website.
