Downloadable Resources from RBS, Twinkl & Strathclyde University

Thursday 16th February 2012

We have a great number of websites that offer downloadable content from some of the biggest businesses and corporations. We also find free resources from universities and other organisations that can help teachers in any part of the world, in any subject!

The Royal Bank of Scotland Group offer some excellent history lesson plans for teachers. The two topics covered by RBS have links to the company’s own history, as well as linking excellently with KS3 History. Being such a historic company themselves, RBS have some fantastic primary resources for use within the classroom, including images and handwritten letters between historic figures. The website offers free teacher notes and worksheets for use in the classroom, to deliver a very interesting lesson.

The other downloadable resources fresh to Free Teaching Resources include Strathclyde University’s online bank of artefacts for KS2 Religious Studies. This collection offers photographed artefacts for use within the classroom, and covers a wide range of religions. The photographs can be downloaded and used in conjunction with learning of other religions in KS1 and KS2 RE.

Twinkl also offer free downloadable teaching resources for English KS1, including alphabet mats and word cards, that link well to the ‘Letters and Sounds’ programme for learning phonics in Early Years. These resources are great to add variety and increase interest in the activities and learning.

You are sure to find something for your classroom in our collection of new downloadable resources.
