Department for Education Replaces DCSF

Friday 14th May 2010

The Department for Education was formed on 12 May 2010 to replace the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) and is responsible for education and children’s services.  The new website is a work in progress and there isn’t much to see so far, no doubt this will change as the new coalition government departments gets to work.  For now you can still access the old DCSF website but a warning pop up box will tell you that the content may not be up to date.

The Rt Hon Michael Gove MP has been confirmed as the new Secretary of State for Education with his ministerial team outlined on one of the few pages on the website.

For more information visit the Department for Education website.
